The Teen Project sought a way to connect homeless teens to shelters and services across the United States. Research revealed that most of these teens own a mobile phone.
Results
This short codes program has connected homeless teens with more than 17,000 shelters across the United States.
Solution
Teens text mobile keywords such as "SHELTER," "ABUSED," and "SOBER" to the short code 99000. They then receive the address of a local shelter within a 30-mile radius.
